Please see below this week’s update on the project.
Durham Street
- We are continuing with testing and connecting of our water main upgrade on the west side of the road.
- We are nearing completion of the power ducting and gas renewal works, this weekend should be our last weekend to work to install the ducts.
- Work is progressing with the rain gardens, with our second structure now in place.
- Extended work hours: We are continuing to work on our installation of a water main on the Trustpower side of the road, to do this with minimal impact we will need to close the road to through traffic in the evenings from 7pm. The road will be re-opened by 6am in the mornings. We have been delayed by some rain this week, and plan to continue next week weather permitting.
Durham Lane
- We have begun work on installing the underground services at the south end of the lane.
- The retaining wall on the north end now has the first stage of posts installed, and work will continue this coming week. We are looking to put up the concrete panels for the wall next week. We are working on this retaining wall in two stages, because it has a bend in it. We will complete the first straight section completely, and then move to the second section.
Spring Street and Durham Street Intersection
- Our work at the intersection has been slower than expected due to design changes from the consultant. We are now expecting to do our first concrete pour late next week and once this is down with design issues resolved, the process will then be able to move more rapidly from there.
Traffic management remains the same as per map below (Note Durham Street will be closed to through traffic for night works only):
