Durham Street project update - Friday 11 January 2018

Welcome to 2019! Work has started again this past week with our first concrete pour for the year planned for today. 

Work planned in the coming weeks include:

Durham Street

  • Continuing the installation of the watermain on the eastern side of the road at night
  • Installing more rain gardens outside University of Waikato building
  • Continuing to install stormwater and water connections to property boundaries
  • Preparing carriageway subbase metal
  • Boxing and pouring concrete on more sections of the roadway
  • Preparing footpath area near Davista building for concrete surfacing

Spring Street and Durham Street Intersection

  • Boxing and pouring concrete nib kerb that defines the road and footpath areas
  • Preparing footpath area in readiness for cobblestone paving
  • Work to start on the tie ins between the existing and new layouts 

Durham Lane:

  • Connecting the recently laid  water main to the City network
  • Completing  the aggregate  layer of the pavement on the southern section of the lane
  • Install the concrete surface drainage channel
  • Install street light bases
