This is to notify you that a wastewater overflow has occurred at Watling Street, Tauranga on 16 April 2026.
The overflow was a result of fat. This will have impacted the Tom Muir Drive stormwater ponds, Kopurererua Valley, open drain, and Kopurererua Stream.
Council staff and contractors are clearing the blockage, investigating the cause, disinfecting the area, and putting up warning signs along prominent access points to the Kopurererua Valley reserve.
Water quality sampling will be undertaken as soon as weather permits.
