In today’s Economic Development & Investment Committee councillors agreed to support in principle the proposed long-term lease of the previously identified open space at northern Sulphur Point to the University of Waikato. 

Tauranga City Council and the NZ Transport Agency have been monitoring the temporary stop at the end of Hairini Street.

Tauranga’s heart of the city will come to light at this year’s midwinter celebration Winter Nights Winter Lights.

Council today appointed Mike Smith, a highly respected lawyer, former partner and now consultant at Holland Beckett as the new deputy chair of Bay Venues Limited (BVL), a Tauranga City Council Controlled Organisation (CCO).
