Last week the Community and Culture Committee agreed on the final changes to be made to the Tauranga Reserves Management Plan as a result of consultation with the community last year.
Tauranga City Council staff have been working through a tender process with contractors as they seek a long-term solution to the slip that buried part of the Base Track in 2017.
The Waioraka Reserve Walkway in Welcome Bay will be temporarily closed to allow improvement works to take place.
The Waikorire track on Mauao will be closed for one day next week to undertake necessary maintenance.
Tauranga’s reserves – which range from sports fields, playgrounds and neighbourhood parks to beaches, river esplanades, walkways, harbour margins and historical sites – are special to everyone in different ways.
