Since the Match Fund first launched in November 2014, we have funded some amazing community-led projects and initiatives. Have a look below and see for yourself.

  • Whare Ora 111 – capacity building for their organisation

  • Tipu Skills for Life – tipu skills for life mentoring
  • Tauranga Muslim Association – revitalising the women’s space at Tauranga Mosque

  • Arataki Kindergarten 2019 Tapasā and Pacific PowerUp FlexiPlus Launch – an event to support teachers to become more culturally capable with Pacific learners and their families
  • Bookrapt BOP Children’s Literature Association – kids create a book trailer workshop

  • NZ Russian Speaking Community Trust BOP – Russian Cultural Festival
  • NZ Sikh Community Tauranga Trust – Turban Up (Turban Day)
  • Safe Surfer – “Don’t Lie to Me” youth project
  • Shore Voices – keyboard for community performances
  • The Boy’s Brigade – education trailer for a boys mentoring programme
  • The Incubator Creative Hub – support a community music programme at the Jam Factory
  • Good Neighbour Aotearoa Trust – creation of a central city community garden ‘Our Place’
  • Arataki Community Bicycle Hub project – creation of a community focused bicycle hub in Arataki, using a re-purposed shipping container
  • Curate Church – a community partnership project to provide grocery gifts to those less fortunate or in difficult circumstances at Christmas time
  • Tauranga Community Foodbank Trust – a project to provide families with the core ingredients and the knowledge to be able to cook their own healthy, home-cooked meals
  • Sydenham Botanic Park Funding Trust – creation of a community pergola and stage area to be enjoyed by the community and available to support small community events

  • Aspergers Connections Tauranga – supporting parents and carers of children and teens with Asperger's Syndrome/Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Arthouse Revolution – pop-up community art gallery project
  • Tauranga Writers – community poetry evening to celebrate National Poetry Day 2017
  • Tuvalu Community Group (Tauranga) – cultural community celebration of 29th independence day
  • Mount Maunganui Tongan Methodist Church – cultural uniforms for community performances
  • Noelle and Jen Tito – a ‘Friendship Festival’ for the Pyes Pa community

  • Ngati Ranginui Iwi Society Inc. – Matariki cultural event
  • Sailability Tauranga Charitable Trust – purpose-built pontoon for disability access to water vessels

  • The Incubator Growing Art & Culture – community gallery project 
  • Papamoa Family Services – family violence support programme for women
  • Haeata Charitable Trust – community food caravan and the establishment of community gardens
  • Good Neighbour Trust – chipper to help dispose of garden waste for community projects
  • Coast Gardens in Schools Collective ­– Sustainable Gardens in Schools project
  • The Incubator Growing Arts & Culture – exhibition series and gallery project
  • Greerton Village Community Association Inc. – vintage and retro fair

  • Safesurfer – practical pilot evening aimed at educating parents of the issues of online pornography and technology safety 
  • Manaaki te Awanui Charitable Trust – cultural knowledge archiving project
  • Under the Stars – project to help feed those in need
  • Monowai Village – communal outdoor seating space for residents and visitors to gather
  • Boomerang Bags – initiative aimed at reducing the use of plastic bags, and bringing people together to create and distribute recycled bags
  • BOP Samoa Rugby Assoc. – Bay Pacifika 10s event: sporting, dance and music event for the Pacifika community
  • St Peters in the City Presbyterian Church – Christmas dinner for the vulnerable in the community
  • Journey Vineyard Church – Christmas dinner for the vulnerable in the community
  • Tauranga Bird Club – community bird show
  • Tauranga Writers Inc. – three free community arcade events
  • Kai Western Bay – community workshop re-establishing a Food Policy Council for Tauranga
  • Brave Hearts NZ – ‘P: An Awareness Seminar’ informing and supporting families dealing with this growing issue
  • Mount Made Charitable Trust – free creative workshops for youth
  • Tauranga Society of Artists – community exhibition ‘Sow & Tell’
