Proposed extension of the 2019/20 Development Contributions Policy
Tauranga City Council will likely not be able to adopt a Development Contributions Policy 2020/21 before 30 June, as it considers the impacts of COVID-19 on the draft Annual Plan 2020/21. To enable council to continue collecting development contributions to fund growth-related capital expenditure from 1 July 2020, Council is proposing to amend the 2019/20 policy to extend the period to which it applies until a subsequent policy becomes operative.
Have your say on this proposal by 5 June 2020
Consultation on the Development Contributions Policy 2020/21 closed on 3 May.
Staff are reading the submissions and will provide copies to the mayor and councillors.
If you made a submission but have not had a response from staff please email email@example.com
Hearings were originally scheduled for mid-May. However, Covid-19 has had a major impact on our finances and Council is considering whether to revise the plan, and to reconsult on it and the capital expenditure budgets within it. If this happens, we may need to revise the draft Development Contributions Policy 2020/21 and re-consult with our community.
If we do re-consult, and you have already submitted on the draft policy, we will get in touch and provide you with the option to retain, retract or amend your submission.
