Tenders for temporary traders licences

Tauranga City Council invites tenders for the limited number of licences it grants annually for temporary commercial and mobile shop activities.

Update: Marine Parade Winter Trading – New Monthly Booking Process (Trial for Winter 2026)

A new winter booking system for Marine Parade mobile shop sites will operate from 1 May to 30 November 2026. This trial introduces a >monthly EOI process  to provide a clearer and more consistent approach to allocating spaces and power over the winter season.

How the new system works:

  • EOIs for each trading month open on the 1st of the month prior at 8am (e.g., May bookings open 1 April).
  • Bookings and power access are allocated on a first‑come, first‑served basis
  • Power is charged at a flat monthly rate: $450 (10/16 amp) or $930 (32 amp).
  • Confirmation emails and invoices will be issued by the 20th of each month.
  • Traders who miss out will be prioritised on the next month’s waitlist if they reapply.

Please note an online application form will be available on 1 April 2026.
