Cruise ship tourist vehicles

Operators of passenger service tourist vehicles can park in the Salisbury Wharf MOSC carpark area to collect cruise ship passengers.

The designated area includes 30 car parks within Salisbury Wharf car park and 17 car parks in the immediate vicinity. The restriction is in place between 6am and 11am on scheduled cruise ship days from 20 September to 31 May each year.

Between 6am and 4pm daily, there is a loading zone at the southern end of The Mall next to the Salisbury Wharf car park available for a ‘hop-on and hop-off’ bus service.

Applications should be emailed to info@tauranga.govt.nz with a copy of your Transport Service Licence (TSL).

To help manage extra activity whenever a cruise ship arrives at the port, a section of Salisbury Avenue and The Mall will be turned into a one-way traffic lane. The one-way section will start at Victoria Road and end at Prince Avenue. Each closure will be closely monitored and will probably last a few hours.
