On Saturday 13 December, the Tauranga Waterfront will transform into a vibrant hub of Manu culture with the return of the Tauranga Moana Manu Champs, a free whānau-friendly even celebrating local talent, culture, and competitive spirit.
Now in its third year, Tauranga Moana Manu Champs is a highlight of Tauranga’s summer calendar and, for the second consecutive year, is an official qualifying event for the 2026 Z Manu World Champs in Tāmaki Makaurau.
It’s free to enter and open to anyone aged 8 and over, with competitive divisions for all age groups. The first and second placed male and female in each division will fast-track to the grand finale, going Manu for Manu against the best from across Aotearoa.
