Temporary and New Year period alcohol-free areas

Temporary alcohol-free areas

A temporary alcohol-free area has been established between 9pm and 7am from 4 February 2019 to 7 April 2019, at the following areas:

  • All beaches, reserves and public places on the seaward side of Marine Parade (from its intersection of Grove Avenue), Oceanbeach Road and Maranui Road
  • Surf Road.

Temporary alcohol-free areas are in place for a number of events over the summer period, to support NZ Police. These include New Year’s Eve community events at Gordon Spratt Reserve and Fergusson Park, the Bay Dreams Music Festival and their park and ride service, and various concerts at Soper Reserve. Refer to maps for dates and timing.
