Candidate profile

My principal place of residence is not in the Te Awanui Māori Ward area.

Ka hī ake ana te atakura, tau ki runga ki Whakamārama, rere tika tonu ki ngā whenua o Tukairangi, me Tapuika. Nei rā taku rohe, e mihi, e mihi. Ko Suaree Borell tōku ingoa.

My campaign for Te Awanui will deliver on the principles of Learning, Leading and Leveraging. It would be my honour to contribute my skills to Te Awanui. It will take an agile and adaptive ringa raupā to secure results for Māori. Learning is the foundation on which we build our collective success as Māori. Leading is not about holding authority, but rather about inspiring and influencing others towards a common purpose. Leveraging is about maximising resources to achieve our goals.

I need your vote to do this. I'm an advocate for community voice at the decision-making table, with governance and business experience, and have the time to activate this role for better outcomes for all Māori.

Candidate profile

My principal place of residence is in the Te Awanui Māori Ward area.

As a candidate for Te Awanui Ward, I am committed to serving our community with integrity and diligence. Unlike many, I am not here to make empty promises. Instead, I vow to dedicate myself to thorough research and critical analysis of every issue we face in our city. I understand the importance of fiscal responsibility and will work tirelessly to ensure that every dollar of ratepayer money is spent wisely and effectively. Our community deserves a representative who prioritizes transparency and accountability. I will scrutinize our spending, advocate for cost-effective solutions, and ensure that we achieve the best value for every project undertaken. My goal is to foster a more efficient and responsive council that truly serves the interests of our people. Together, we can build a stronger, more prosperous Tauranga. Together, your support will enable me to be a vigilant and conscientious kaitiaki of our community's resources.
