Weather event update - Sunday, 19 April, 6pm
Following the recent weather event, all roads have now reopened.
The storm caused damage to homes, parks, and infrastructure, with 15 properties affected across the city. Four families remain displaced but have organised alternative accommodation tonight.
Maungatapu Marae has sustained structural and roof damage, with on site coordination underway.
Roads:
- Welcome Bay Road – open
- Devonport Road – open (clean up continues)
- Hamilton Street (west of Cameron Road) – one lane open
Parks closed:
- Tye Park
- Wharepai Domain
- Rotary Park (Maungatapu)
