If you would like to adopt one of the dogs listed below please contact us. All dogs adopted are registered, microchipped and neutered.

The Tauranga dog pound is at 88 Hewletts Road, Mount Maunganui and is open Monday 9am to 4.30pm and Tuesday to Friday from 2pm to 4.30pm.

Appointments are available if you are wishing to adopt a dog. Email with your expression of interest, specifying which dog you are interested in adopting, and we will be in touch.

If you are looking for your forever buddy and all our dogs below are showing as adopted, get in touch by email and our team can link you in with other adoption sites to help you find your new best furry friend. Alternatively, fill in the pre-adoption form, send it back to us, and the team will be in touch should a dog that matches your preferences comes up for adoption.

Pre-adoption dog application (118kb pdf)

In the event, your dog has been roaming or is unregistered and has been collected by animal services we will want to have you reunited with your furry friend as quickly as possible. Having a micro-chipped dog is the best way in which we can assure this happens. Once your dog is micro-chipped be sure to contact council to have the number recorded as your vet won’t do this.

Ensure your contact details are always current so that if your dog ends up at the pound, reuniting you with your fur baby can be done as quickly as possible. If you move or change phone or email information you can easily update your details online.

Microchip Mondays

Micro-chipping your dog is not only a legal requirement but it allows for you to be reunited quickly and with minimal stress for your best furry friend. If your dog isn’t microchipped or you want to confirm the microchip number, bring your pet to the pound on a Monday. We can microchip your dog for $30 and update your information on the national dog register. To book in contact us on 07 577 7000.
