Overflow Notification

This is to notify you that a wastewater overflow has occurred at Maleme Street, Greerton, Tauranga on 2 September 2026.
The overflow was a result of fat. This will have impacted Waiorohi Stream and the Waimapu Estuary.

Current Actions

Council staff and contractors have cleared the blockage, disinfected the footpath and put up warning signs opposite the open drain at 61 Maleme Street, the open drain at 93 Oropi Road, and the Esplanade reserve at 101 College Place.

Water quality sampling will be undertaken as soon as weather permits.
