From time to time it’s necessary to temporarily shut off parts of our water network to carry out annual water mains flushing, upgrades or emergency repairs.

Please note if this page is blank there are no current planned shutdowns.

All clear - Wastewater Overflow Notification - Sutherland Road

Overflow Notification

Wastewater overflow at Sutherland Road - Brookfield, Tauranga on 21 February 2026 is now all clear.

The overflow was a result of paper and wipes. This will have impacted the Waikareao Estuary.

Actions Completed

Water quality sample results indicate that there will be no further impact as a result of the abovementioned overflow.
