Public place recycling

Public place recycling bin changes – making it easier to recycle right.

We’ve simplified our public place recycling options to help reduce waste and contamination. Public place recycling bins are for either glass or cans. If you have other recyclable items, you can take them home to place in your kerbside recycling, or you can take to Te Maunga transfer station for free.

Construction and demolition waste

There are several specialised (drop off) recycling options for construction and demolition waste, including plasterboard, untreated timber, concrete and polystyrene, or you can take it to the transfer station.
