Their work is funded through a targeted rate that is paid by commercial property owners in each area. The role of these organisations is to promote local business and encourage its development in each geographical area, contributing to creating strong and vibrant city and town centres. They organise promotions, events and other initiatives to make each area more attractive, interesting and inviting to shoppers and visitors.
