Proposal to Grant Lease – Bayfair Foodbank Garden Incorporated

Pursuant to s 73(3) of the Reserves Act 1977, the Tauranga City Council proposes to grant a lease of land on Arataki Park to Bayfair Foodbank Garden Incorporated for an initial term of five years, with one further renewal term of five years. The lease is proposed to commence on 15 May 2025. If the renewal period is exercised the final expiry date will be 14 May 2035. The proposed lease will permit Bayfair Foodbank Garden to grow fruit and vegetables to be used to benefit the community. 

The lease area is comprised of approximately 948m2 and is located on Arataki Park at 26 and 36 Grenada Street and 1 Gloucester Road, Mount Maunganui and contained in:

  • Record of Title SA33D/438 being described as Part Lot 2 DPS 32737
  • Record of Title SA37B/748 being described as Part Lot 24 DPS 9710
  • Record of Title 566683 being described as Lot 203 DPS 28890
  • Record of Title 566685 being described as Part Lot 1 DPS 35652

The land is owned and administered by the Council as a Recreation Reserve and is subject to the Reserves Act 1977.
