Procurement policy and guidelines

This is where you will find information and documents for Tauranga City Council's procurement policy and guidelines.

As a council, the choices we make when procuring goods and services can significantly impact our communities and the quality of life we have in Tauranga.

Through our procurement processes, we want to achieve value for money for ratepayers while supporting broader social, economic, cultural and environmental outcomes for our City.

Relationships matter. We want to connect with suppliers who encourage fair competition, foster innovation and share our goals.

The following principles underpin our approach to procurement:

  • Achieve public value
  • Be sustainable
  • Work together
  • Act in a fair and transparent manner

Procurement drop-in sessions

Throughout the year, we hold procurement drop-in sessions to give interested businesses a chance to meet our procurement team and find out more about working with Council. It’s a chance to connect, talk about fresh ideas and innovations, and discover more about the market.

The sessions are held four times a year, to align with the seasons: Spring (Nov/Dec), Summer (Feb/Mar), Autumn (Apr/May) and Winter (Jul/Aug).
