Travel across alert level boundaries
During a regional resurgence a COVID-19 Alert Level Boundary may be established, limiting travel into or out of an affected region. An alert level boundary separates areas that are at different alert levels from the rest of New Zealand. In order to travel across the boundary you will need to have proof that you either fit into a permitted activity or have a specific exemption to travel. You can find out more on the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment website.
