Business, employment and training support
Connected.govt.nz is a service to help New Zealanders connect to the wide range of employment, education and training support and advice available through government agencies. It can assist with:
- employment advice and tools to set up and run, or manage closure of your business
- information for businesses to build capabilities of your workforce
- information on financial help available to businesses affected by COVID-19.
Council rates remissions are available for ratepayers that meet the criteria, and rates can be postponed in some circumstances.

Travel across alert level boundaries
During a regional resurgence a COVID-19 Alert Level Boundary may be established, limiting travel into or out of an affected region. An alert level boundary separates areas that are at different alert levels from the rest of New Zealand. In order to travel across the boundary you will need to have proof that you either fit into a permitted activity or have a specific exemption to travel. You can find out more on the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment website.
