My principal place of residence is in the Tauriko General Ward area.

Since 2001 I have been elected at various times to represent Pyes Pa and Greerton and served one term in Parliament as a List MP working hard to make progress on Tauranga's transportation, housing, infrastructure and social amenity needs.

Under the Commissioners good progress has been made but there is still much to be addressed like the congestion we currently endure moving in and out of our Tauriko Ward through the roundabouts that cross State Highway 29. This is one of the most critical issues facing us now.

As we transition back to elected Councillors some may think that it should be out with the old and in with the new!

However with a proven track record I ask for your vote so that my experience and knowledge of the past can help support a new team of councillors to keep our city moving forward into the future.

I live in the Tauriko Ward, Tauranga born.

I understand the challenges, opportunities, that our community, our city faces. With the return of democracy, confident of a very positive future, with your input.

My career includes family businesses, land development, and Guy Coaches. Life experience has given me valuable insights into the local economy, the needs of our residents and city.

Councillor 2001-2013, with critical local body experience, to reset our city, to secure a positive return to democracy, independent of external influences.

I've witnessed first hand the impact of recent council decisions on people's lives, our rates, debt, dysfunctional transport corridors and some have felt ignored by the appointed commissioners. With your support, this will change.

For planned and managed growth
Cities need infrastructure, well-designed and maintained. Tauranga needs a council that has a strong focus on growth, to meet the needs of families wishing to make Tauranga their home. As a resident of Pyes Pa, the Tauriko Ward is soon to be a large growth area. We need to ensure that the roads and pipes are built to meet this continued growth.

As an engineer, farmer, and past business owner I have worked in areas that require solution-based thinking. Never afraid to express my ideas in a team environment, and always willing to listen to new ideas. Tauranga City needs long-term thinking, planning for tomorrow's growth. Your support will ensure that Tauranga has a councillor that plans for tomorrow while solving the problems of today.

I have lived in Tauranga for over 30 years and have enjoyed success as a self-employed accountant. This financial capability, coupled with extensive business and local government experience, I will bring to our community with honesty, enthusiasm and commitment, along with a fresh personal approach.

I will work hard to protect and advance Tauranga's future ensuring essential services meet the needs of this and future generations, with ensuring public services are coordinated and affordable enough to meet community needs.

Providing community leadership to maintain good connections with local communities, local organisations and local businesses, setting strategic direction for the city and in the process, representing the interests of the people of Tauranga. You will be listened to and your contribution will be valued.
