If you want to install a new water, wastewater or stormwater connection you must complete a Service Connection Application (SCA) form online.
This form is also required if you want to upgrade, relocate or disconnect existing connections, or install a swimming pool.
As part of your SCA, you will need to submit a site plan which clearly shows the location and size of each proposed connection. Please note that all water supply and drainage work must be carried out by a council-approved licensed contractor.

Building Consent considerations
If you are applying for a wider building consent your SCA will be reviewed by our Building Development Engineering team as part of your building consent application. Find out more about building consents.
Development Contributions

Matapihi wastewater connections
Some Matapihi properties are connected via an underground pump system to our city’s wastewater network instead of a traditional wastewater connection. This includes two local marae, the kura and kohanga reo plus residential properties near both marae.
